Here is what we are all about!
The Knights of Columbus is a non-profit fraternity of Catholic gentlemen dedicated to aid charitable causes with monetary and man-power donations.
St. Monica Knights of Columbus Council 11529 was chartered on March 24, 1995. In the 14 years since our charter, our council has been very active in the growth of our church, participating in various ministries such as Eucharistic, Lectors, Music, Core Committee, Parish Council and Social Concerns.
Our fundraising has contributed thousands of dollars for national organizations such as Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Special Olympics.
International donations include contributions to the Vitamin Drive for the Children of the House of Friendship “Hogar Amisted” Orphanage in Honduras. In Kasana – Luweero, our sister dioceses in Uganda, our funds provided school supplies, sanitary facilities, farm tractor repairs, and a new motorcycle that allows their parish priest to minister to his far reaching parishioners.
On the local front, we support the following causes: MOMS Club of Jackson, Holy Innocents Society, Relay for Life, Central Jersey Blood Bank, local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, AMVETS and VFW Memorials, American Cancer Society, Jackson Women of Today, Seminarian support, Scholarship program, Jason’s Dreams for Kids, Ocean Harbor House, ARC, St. Monica Youth Group and St. Monica Social Concerns.
These donations are made possible through fund-raising events such as our annual Christmas Tree Sale, Rubber Duck Race, Tootsie Roll Drive and many other events throughout the year. Our council is dedicated to the continual support of these causes, and other charities, that may be brought to our attention.
